One thing that I’m grateful for is that I studied to be a social worker specializing in families and I had a fabulous mentor who let me sit in on her parent education classes even before I had kids (or a husband for that matter). People joke all the time that hospitals should provide a manual when they send parents home with a new baby, but it’s true. While all children are different and parenting isn’t a one-size-fits-all-kids, there is a lot to be said for understanding child development and behavior, and having a bag of tricks to draw from.
I’m a guest expert at AllExperts.com in the area of parenting and I get questions all the time about child behavior from parents at their wits end. Sometimes they are unnecessarily upset and other times they have a difficult issue. What I’ve learned is that parents need information and support. That’s what I hope to provide in the Parenting section of Moms At Home Success. Below you’ll find articles on various topics. Or if you have a specific question, please feel free to contact me (please note, your question may used on the site, but your name will be withheld to protect you and your child’s annonymity.
