Moms At Home Success was started in 2003 — wow has it been that long — to provide moms with information and resources to afford to stay home, as well as work-at-home opportunities. Originally, it offered moms the ability to create their own MAHS websites and make money through various affiliates and businesses it promoted. But I didn’t like the how the site was going, and eventually changed it to a blog.

Over the years, the blog has had periods of activity and others of inactivity. One of the challenges is that I never really developed the concept of the site. Should it just be about saving or making money? Moms who stay at home do so much more than clip coupons and search the Internet for money-making opportunities.

Recently I decided I needed to either sell (or take down) the site or get serious about doing something with it.  I finally decided to get serious. Over the next coming days and weeks, you’ll notice changes at the site. You may have noticed some already. Moms At Home Success will still offer savings and work-at-home tips and resources, but it will also provide parenting tips, resources to help make mom’s life easier and encouragement to remember to take time for mom.

Along with what you’ll find at MAHS, you also find RSS feeds from my other sites that can be helpful to moms including Work-At-Home Success, which provides work-at-home jobs, home business tips and more, and Better Living On the Web which scouts out web and smartphone-based applications that can make your life easier. Those feeds are located at the bottom of the MAHS website.

The last piece I haven’t decided on is whether or not to add a forum or a full networking option whereby moms can connect and support each other. I love the idea of moms being able to band together, however, I find that often forums and social networking gets overwhelmed by spam. And…does the Internet really another mommy-networking site? I’m still contemplating this, so if you have any feedback or ideas, please let me know.

In last week’s newsletter I talked about building online income using Google’s Adsense program and recommended Joel Comm’s new release of his Adsense Secrets. What wasn’t clear was that people who bought Joel’s book were also signed up for his $29 per month newsletter. This wasn’t made chrystal clear on the order page and so I feel I need to let you know especially if you did buy his book.

While negative option sign ups aren’t illegal, they are deceptive and tend to make people mad. Joel certainly has heard an earful as this situation has come to light. In response he has posted an apology. His new sales page is clear about the newsletter and even offers an option not to get it.

However, if you’ve already ordered the book, and you don’t want the newsletter, you’ll need to cancel your subscription.

I still believe in Joel’s information as it helped me increase my income from Adsense over 16 fold. However, I don’t like the use of deceptive practises in making money and so I felt you needed to be made aware of this situation.

Technical issues have forced a change in Moms At Home Success. Nevertheless you can can still expect to find lots of great savings and money making ideas to help mom become a stay-at-home mom.
